Animation Course with Tinker & Create - Basic Animation Course
Tinker and Create is a group of accomplished educators and scholars committed to teaching students how to approach and apply what matters in science and technology now. Tinker & Create is bringing multiple programs to us with technology and education such as coding, roblox, digital art and so much more!Join Tinker & Create in their Basics of Animation Course: Bringing Drawings to Life!Monday (12/29), Tuesday (12/30), Wednesday (12/31) 9AM-11AMFrom structure to conceptual design to movement of drawings and graphics, this course will explore the fundamental skills necessary for any young artist, animator, or game concept designer. With pencils, paper, The Blender animation 3D platform and plenty of imagination, students will learn how to bring an idea to life. Animators are sometimes called “actors with a pencil” with that in mind, students will be encouraged to tap into their creative instincts to write, create, and direct an animated short! In designing their characters and worlds, these young directors will also learn how to be aware of forces acting upon objects, how to render lines of action, and start to think in a three-dimensional way. From animation principles such as persistence of vision, walk-cycles, and physics – to film basics including scene-blocking and editing basics – we will cover as many topics possible to give students a grounding in design, film, and animation.Please note: Pre-registration required. This is a drop-off program. Refunds or credits will not be issued within 24 business hours of the program start time, and programs will not be pro-rated for missed classes. Participants may be eligible for a refund or account credit on a case by case basis prior to the first day of a program. Any approved cancellations resulting in a refund will incur a 5% cancellation fee, unless the cancellation of the program is initiated by the Recreation Department. In the event that the minimum registration requirement is not met, the program will be canceled. In such instances, participants will receive a full refund, and notification of the cancellation will be sent via email. Periodically, the Recreation Department photographs/videos program participants for promotional use. Unless the participant/guardian informs us of their desire not to be photographed in writing, the Recreation Department will use photographs/videos for their promotional purposes. Registration is first-come, first served. Participants are not fully registered for a program until payment is received in full and a completed waiver has been received. Please note that activities may include sensory-rich environments and experiences which can sometimes involve loud noise and messy, hands-on materials. Our programs are open to all participants.
