What is Geocaching? Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices.(Most cellphones will work) Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache (container) hidden at that location. Visit the "Hide & Seek a Cache" page.
Enter your postal code and click "search."
Choose any geocache from the list and click on its name.
Enter the coordinates of the geocache into your GPS Device.
Use your GPS device to assist you in finding the hidden geocache.
Sign the logbook and return the geocache to its original location.
Rules of Geocaching:
If you take something from the geocache (container), leave something of equal or greater value.

Stoughton Leadership Institute (SLI) with Department of Substance Abuse Prevention - SLI
Stoughton Leadership Institute (SLI) is a free after school program. All meetings will take place on Wednesdays at Stoughton High School in A216. The program is only open to Stoughton High School students. SLI empowers and inspires young leaders. Students will have the opportunity to be in leadership roles and engage in community projects. SLI offers workshops on college and career readiness, skills - building, and social and emotional learning (SEL). SLI members should attend workshops every week on Wednesdays from 2:30-3:30P.M. unless otherwise noted.

Kids Night Out - Kids Night Out
Let us take the kids for the night for an evening filled with movies, games, and pizza! Take this opportunity to have a relaxing night out with no worries! Kids Night Out will be held at our new location (15 Pleasant Street). The event will be staffed by the Stoughton Recreation Department along with volunteers and staff from the Stoughton Youth Commission and Stoughton Leadership Institute. You must pre-register your children for this event in advance, limited spots are available. Please note: there are no refunds for Kids Night Out. If you can no longer attend, please let us know so we can open the spot up to another child. If we are able to fill your spot we will issue you an account credit. Please note: Pre-registration required. Refunds or credits will not be issued within 24 business hours of the program start time, and programs will not be pro-rated for missed classes. Participants may be eligible for a refund or account credit on a case by case basis prior to the first day of a program. Any approved cancellations resulting in a refund will incur a 5% cancellation fee, unless the cancellation of the program is initiated by the Recreation Department. In the event that the minimum registration requirement is not met, the program will be canceled. In such instances, participants will receive a full refund, and notification of the cancellation will be sent via email. Outdoor programs are weather dependent. Periodically, the Recreation Department photographs/videos program participants for promotional use. Unless the participant/guardian informs us of their desire not to be photographed in writing in advance, the Recreation Department will use photographs/videos for their promotional purposes. Registration is first-come, first served. Participants are not fully registered for a program until payment is received in full and a completed waiver has been received. Our programs are open to all participants. Please note that activities may include sensory-rich environments and experiences which can sometimes involve loud noise and messy, hands-on materials. If your child has specific needs, we encourage you to reach out so we can discuss accommodations within our means.

Choose any geocache from the list and click on its name.

Culinary Creations - Culinary Creations: Sugar Cookie Decorating
Description: Join us for a workshop to prepare creative works of culinary art! Come learn about food and create one of a kind items for all to enjoy. We will never use any peanut products, but eggs, dairy and gluten may be used. Please email us at recreation@stoughton-ma.gov with questions regarding food allergies. Stoughton Leadership Institute (SLI) with Department of Substance Abuse Prevention - SLI
Stoughton Leadership Institute (SLI) is a free after school program. All meetings will take place on Wednesdays at Stoughton High School in A216. The program is only open to Stoughton High School students. SLI empowers and inspires young leaders. Students will have the opportunity to be in leadership roles and engage in community projects. SLI offers workshops on college and career readiness, skills - building, and social and emotional learning (SEL). SLI members should attend workshops every week on Wednesdays from 2:30-3:30P.M. unless otherwise noted.

Music Bingo - Family Holiday Music Bingo
Description: Get ready for Music Bingo! In this fun workshop, participants will listen to short clips of songs and match them to the words on their bingo cards. It's a great way for kids to enjoy their favorite tunes while practicing listening skills. Perfect for all music-lovers, this workshop combines the excitement of bingo with the joy of music. Small prizes will be awarded to our bingo winners, so come ready to listen, play, and sing along! This is not a drop-off program. A parent or adult must attend Family Music Bingo with the child. Create with Clay for Adults - Create with Clay
Kick off 2025 by trying something new just for you! Join us for a hands-on clay workshop where you'll craft your own decorative piece. Whether it’s a trinket dish, vase, sculpture, or other creative design, you'll have the chance to shape and build with clay. Hand-building with clay is a great way to relax and focus on putting technology away and creating something unique. After the class, your piece will be fired in a kiln and ready for pickup two weeks later. Once you have your creation, you can bring it home and add your personal touch with acrylic paints.
