Stoughton Recreation’s Pre-Playground program is run inside the South School, separate from the Open Playground groups. Pre-Playground is a structured program, led by counselors that focus on creativity and the power of play. Our goal is to challenge and educate all children in the most beneficial way through arts and crafts, outdoor and indoor games and special events

Pre-Playground is limited to 10 children per classroom per week. The program will take place inside two classrooms in the South School and this allows up to keep a strict ratio of 1:5 of child to counselor. We cannot accommodate more than 10, and spaces fill very quickly so please plan accordingly. This program does not include a sibling discount, and does not receive a t-shirt. Children MUST be fully potty trained (child can go to the bathroom without any help, no exceptions) to join the program. Masks are not required. The Pre-Playground classrooms are a PEANUT/TREE NUT-FREE zone. Please note there are no refunds after the first day of the program.


There is NO After Playground for Pre-Playground. All participants must be picked up by 2:30 pm. Children must be of age by the start of the program.
